Saviour of the World

Charlene Moelker

“Today in the town of David a Saviour has been born to you; He is the Messiah, the Lord.”
Luke 2:11

I love that this season has a beautiful way of illuminating that our Heavenly Father lavishes good gifts upon mankind. There could be no gift greater than the gift of our Saviour. I love to imagine the majestic sight of the angel, announcing the good news of the birth of that sweet babe wrapped in swaddling clothes. The gift of God to humanity. Oh, to have seen the glory of the Lord light the sky as His hosts declared the praise of God!

At times we can lose sight of the magnitude of this great gift. We’ve heard it many times, accepted it, and yet the good news can somehow become stale.

Today, I invite you to unwrap this incredible gift from your Heavenly Father.

Jesus, our Saviour, was poured out upon us by the kindness, the love, and the mercy of God.

Receiving our Saviour 2000 years ago looked like a babe born in a stable.

Today, receiving our Saviour, looks like the weight of sin being lifted off of us. It looks like eternal life, as our spot is sealed in Heaven. It looks like the chains of addiction being broken. It looks like sickness and disease losing its right in our bodies. Unwrapping the gift of our Saviour means that shame, hopelessness, sorrow, and bondage are no longer ours. It is not because of anything we have done, it is because of the gift of our Saviour, Jesus.

Let’s join the hosts of Heaven to give glory today to our Saviour!

“Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom His favour rests.” Luke 2:14
